To adjust your sound settings, follow these steps:

⚙️ Side Menu > Settings > Voice & Sound

You can also quickly access this feature using the sound button in the bottom right corner of the map.

🔧 Sound Alert Settings

Customize how you want to receive Radarbot’s sound notifications:

🔊 All: Receive all alerts, including speed cameras, navigation prompts, and speed limits.

⚠️ Alerts Only: Hear only essential warnings, such as speed cameras and safety alerts.

🔇 None: Disable all sounds for a distraction-free experience.

Adjust the sound settings according to your preferences for a more comfortable drive.

🎧 Audio Output Modes

Radarbot offers three audio output options to suit different needs. To configure them, follow these steps:

⚙️ Side Menu > Settings > Voice & Sound > "Play audio through"

Default Device

Radarbot automatically selects the most appropriate audio channel based on app usage. This option works well in most cases and does not require manual changes.

🔹 In this mode, music volume is temporarily reduced while alerts or navigation prompts play, allowing you to hear them clearly.

📲 Phone Speaker

Radarbot plays alerts through the phone’s speaker, even if the device is connected to Bluetooth. Recommended when you prefer to hear alerts from the phone instead of the vehicle’s audio system.

🔹 Situations where sound will not play through the phone:

  • If the phone is playing music.

  • If the device is connected to CarPlay or Android Auto, as audio will be routed through the default channel.

📳 Bluetooth Phone Call (Hands-Free Device)

Radarbot can transmit audio through a simulated phone call over the vehicle’s Bluetooth system.

⚠️ Important: In this mode, if the phone is playing music (Spotify, YouTube, etc.), Radarbot will pause the music instead of lowering its volume.

Choose the mode that best suits your needs and run a sound test to ensure everything works correctly.

🔥 Known Issues with CarPlay

In some vehicles, the default settings may prevent Radarbot’s sound from playing correctly on CarPlay.

If you have already checked that Radarbot’s volume is set correctly but still don’t hear alerts, try the following:

🔹 Enable the option in Settings > Voice & Sound > Use multimedia channel in CarPlay

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Radarbot make phone calls?

In some hands-free systems, Radarbot uses a simulated call to transmit audio via Bluetooth.

🔹 This happens because some vehicles only allow apps to play sound when an active call is detected.

⚠️ Important:

  • This is not a real call and does not incur any costs.

  • This method is used solely to ensure that alerts are properly heard in the vehicle.
