What is the shutter-like sound in Radarbot and how can it be managed?

Updated today

Radarbot includes various sound alerts to inform about speed cameras and speed limits.

Recent changes in alert sounds

Recently, the sounds associated with Radarbot alerts were updated. If you notice differences in the tones, this may be due to these updates.

In particular, the sounds when the active mode is 'BEEPS ONLY'

What is the "shutter-like" sound?

The "shutter-like" or camera sound is actually the overspeed warning tone configured for speed cameras when using the "Beeps only" option.

This tone is activated when approaching a speed camera while driving above the configured speed limit for that camera.

It is important to note that there is no sound officially called "shutter" in the application. However, we understand that some users may perceive this tone that way.

How to manage or disable this sound?

If this sound is annoying, you can customize or disable this alert:

  1. Disable the overspeed warning for speed cameras: This option removes the tone associated with exceeding the speed limit.

  2. Increase the tolerance margin for the overspeed warning: This allows the tone to activate only when the limit is exceeded by a greater margin.

  3. Enable voice alerts

These settings can be found in the settings menu. Please refer to the manual or FAQ for details.
